Second Day Of Exhibition of Voters Register Records Low Turn-out

As the exhibition of the voters register enters its second day, the exercise is yet to pick up at some polling stations in the Upper West Regional capital Wa. Radio Ghanas correspondent Sualah Abdul-wahab who visited some of the polling stations reports that patronage of the exercise is still low. Some electorates in the Tema metropolis are alleging that posters on the exhibition exercise do not have the both the beginning and ending date for the exercise. According to them even though they have seen the posters they are without the date and this accounted for the low turnout on the first day of the exercise. They said their attention was rather drawn by radio and television announcements. The electorates made the allegation in an interview with Radio Ghana in Tema. Reacting on the issue; the Tema Metropolitan Electoral Officer, Watson Tizor Apenstuii said the contrary to the claims made by the electorates; all the posters on the exhibition have dates and time duration. As a confirmation to his statement, he showed two copies of the posters to Radio Ghana's Correspondent Yvette Adu Effisah. He said the EC has done so much as far as awareness on the exercise is concerned and is left with the electorates to do their part. Meanwhile the exercise has picked up as more people call at the various centers in the Tema Metropolis to verify their particulars. At the community one Presby Center, as at 10: 30 am 25 people had crossed check their details whiles the Oninku Drive center had recorded 15. All those who have checked had their correct details.
