Ayariga Calls For Leadership Change In PNC

The 2012 presidential candidate of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), Mr Hassan Ayariga, has called for leadership change in the party to enable it to perform better in the 2016 election. He said leaders who were not prepared to work for the party should exit rather than remain to exhibit disloyalty and supervise the destruction of the party. Mr Ayariga was addressing constituency executive members drawn from the various constituencies of the Volta Region in Ho. He said the PNC had won elections before and could win another with the right leadership. He, therefore, asked the current executive members to reassess their leadership style, saying, We want leaders who are prepared to die for the party. According to Mr Ayariga, leadership was neither about age nor the number of certificates one had acquired, but the common sense and wisdom that would be applied to bring good result to the party and society. He called on the rank and file of the party to elect right and committed leaders at the partys next congress, adding that they should be careful to not elect a divisive team that would rather destroy the party. 21st century slaves According to Mr Ayariga, the nation had been sold out to foreigners, and citizens had become 21st century slaves who were begging foreigners to come back although they had pressured them for independence. He said it was time Ghanaians looked up to committed men to save the nation from unwarranted exploitation, and that the PNC was capable of doing that. Mr Ayariga said Ghana must be managed and controlled by Ghanaians. This, he said, required that We look for committed men to save the nation from unwarranted exploitation. He said that the PNC had capable men and women who could turn the fortune of the country around. The national vice chairman of the party, Mr David Nibi, said 2016 would be a different ball game because the party would clean its house and chart a new path to make it perform better. He commended members of the party in the region for their loyalty and asked them to renew their faith in the party because the PNC was poised for victory in the 2016 elections.
