I Have Not Seized Senchi Lorry Station MP Fumes

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman, Kofi Osei Ameyaw has denied claims that he has seized a lorry station at the Senchi ferry site. According to him, he single handedly funded the construction of the facility after government turned a death ear to the countless appeals by the chief and people of Asuogyaman. The legislator, according to the Daily Heritage newspaper, allegedly seized booking fees and revenue collected by the District Assembly manning the local park. The newspaper also reported that Hon. Osei Ameyaw who has a private holding in the area sacked the transport operators from the lorry station, leaving the drivers stranded. But in a rebuttal on Asempa FMs Ekosii Sen programme Monday, a livid Osei Ameyaw expressed shock at the report. He noted that transport operators are at the lorry park contrary to claims that they have been driven out of the place. The Asuogyaman MP explained that after the construction of the ferry site to commute passengers across the Volta Lake, he decided to build the facility as a private car park. However, the NPP MP said the District Assembly, transport operators like GPRTU, PROTOA came to see me and we went into an agreement to a fee for using the place, he added. The Asuogyaman MP indicated that all he sought to do is to ensure an equitable, accountable and transparent manner. Hon. Osei Ameyaw is ready for a publicprivate partnership and negotiations on how revenue accrued are shared.
