The jubilating and merry-making that gripped the Central Regional capital, Cape Coast over the weekend following the emphatic win by Ben Allotey Jacobs, the newly elected regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress was cut short when the constituency chairman for Awutu Senya Municipal Assembly, Alhaji Habib Dramani unleashed two hot slaps on the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Awutu Senya East, Adams Nuhu for supporting Mr Jacobs. Narrating the slapping incident to the DAILY HERITAGE, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the MCE, Sadat Apebo said during the conference, his boss wife arrived at the centre to be part of the process, so he decided to descend to the ground floor to offer her an accreditation. Mr. Apebo said after the accreditation was given, the MCE received news when he welcomed the wife that his favourite candidate contesting for the regional organizer position had won which sent him into wild jubilation. The MCE was seen jubilating because his preferred candidate had won and not necessarily because Mr Jacobs had won. This angered some sympathizers of the defeated chairman, Eddy Yeboah who decided to teach the MCE a lesson. The PRO said immediately the elections were over, the MCE decided to congratulate both the winners and losers-to wish them better luck next time. He revealed further that when the MCE got to Alhaji Habib after he had congratulated some other men around him; he stretched his hands to greet him, but to his surprise Mr Habib gave him two hot slaps. In a telephone interview with the DAILY HERITAGE, the MCE confirmed the incident, adding that it was because he (the MCE) supported the winner Allotey Jacobs, while the constituency chairman supported the defeated chairman, Eddy Yeboah. Mr Nuhu said the only crime I committed was to offer my support and technical advice to the current chairman who won massively over the incumbent. He confirmed that the slapping happened when he tried to shake hands with the people after the elections So when I got to him, he raised his hands and gave me two dirty-hot slaps. I dont remember the last time I was slapped so I was surprised about his action but did not utter a word, he stated. According to him, immediately after releasing those two dirty-hot slaps on me, Alhaji Habib for fear of being attacked by my supporters vanished. In a telephone interview with the constituency chairman, Alhaji Habib to react to the allegations leveled against him, he said I am sorry, I cant comment on the issue.
