Mr Chairman, Special Guest of Honour, distinguished invited Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen, All Protocol Observed.I am excited about todays gathering and the opportunity it presents for Union to give back once more to society. As a financial institution, our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives are founded on our corporate purpose of Growing Communities. We believe that our business can achieve long term survival and success only if society develops in good physical and mental health, with empowerment to do more! Our long term vision is to work with everyone business and individuals across the length and breadth of Ghana and we believe that we cant achieve our vision if we dont contribute to ensuring that people are healthy, Educated and well protected. We also believe that growing communities and creating long term value is a shared responsibility of corporate Ghana, government and the larger society. That is why we have over the years embarked on several collaborative CSR initiatives like what we are doing this today in collaboration with the National Road Safety Commission. The UN Universal Declaration for Human Rights specifically requires that children are entitled to special care and assistance and as we celebrate the International Childrens Day which also coincides with the Road Safety awareness week of the NRSC, there is no better time to make our contribution. With our donation of 25 pairs of crossing stands, valued at over GHS 20,000, we seek to make sure that road fatality which involves children as pedestrians are reduced drastically and we believe that that it would augment the efforts of the National Road Safety Commission in enhancing Child Safety profile in the country.
