The National Democratic Congress (NDC) wishes to extend felicitation to farmers and fishermen on the occasion of the farmers� day. We congratulate all farmers and fishermen in Ghana on this occasion for your sacrifices and commitment to the course of the country�s vision of ensuring food sustenance and security. Indeed, the NDC appreciates your contribution to the nation�s economy through agricultural production in the face of challenges posed to agriculture in the country. We wish to reiterate that the NDC is still committed to strengthening the capacity of farmers and providing the requisite resources to enable the country realize the full potential of Ghanaian farmers and fishermen. The introduction of mechanized farming, construction and rehabilitation of irrigation facilities, the establishment of the buffer stock Company, among others, have, impacted positively on the nation�s agricultural sector. Also, we reiterate that the NDC government would continue to collaborate with farmers and fishermen to improve agricultural production, ensure food security and stable income for Ghanaian farmers and fishermen towards the realization of the �Better Ghana Agenda� being advanced under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama. The NDC salutes the nation�s gallant farmers and fisherman on this special occasion. We wish all Ghanaians a Happy Farmers Day celebration. The NDC appreciates farmers� contribution to the nation�s economy through agricultural production in the face of challenges.
