Book On Rawlings Finally Comes Alive Today

All is set for the launch of the book that incurred the wrath of former President Jerry John Rawlings, at the Teachers Hall in Accra, today, at 4pm. The 384-page book, authored by the former Ghana High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK), Professor Kwaku Danso- Boafo, and titled: �JJ Rawlings and the Democratic Transition in Ghana�, touches on Political Leadership in Ghana and later zooms in on the life of former President Rawlings. The book, describes by many as an interesting piece of write-up also features chapters on Rawlings� May 15th and June 4th, 1979 Uprising and the making of J.J Rawlings, Rawlings and the Third Republic, Rawlings� Roadmap to Democracy, the Birth of the Fourth Republic and Rawlings�s Presidency, as well as many other incidences during his reign thereby making the book an interesting read. The 15 Chapter book also devotes a chapters to the happenings under Jerry John Rawlings� Military and Civilian rules, articulates fervently his Birth and Education as well as Rawlings�s life history in the Military. �JJ Rawlings and the Democratic Transition in Ghana�, is a thick yellow book, with former President Rawlings� picture nicely embossed on the opening page. The launch is finally coming off after an in-and-out of court battle between the former President and the author in an Accra Fast High Court, where the former President was seeking to restrain Professor Kwaku Danso- Boafo, from going ahead with the launch of the book which was initially slated for Wednesday, August 20th, 2014. In that writ, J.J Rawlings sought an injunction on the book launch, accusing the Professor of reneging on an earlier agreement with him (Rawlings) to review the book and correct all factual inaccuracies that may be contained in it before the launch.
