Stephen Appiah Tonardo Ball Launched

The Stephen Appiah Foundation (SAF), in partnership with Alive and Kicking Company has launched the Tornado ball named after the former Black Stars captain at the residence of the British High Commissioner in Accra. The 'Tornado ball' is locally manufactured by Alive & Kicking Ghana, a charity organisation that produces and sell over 1,300 sports balls monthly with a percentage of the revenue expected to support the work of the SAF in the areas of health and education through sports. Speaking at the launch, Appiah said, This little achievement did not come because I am Stephen Appiah, but it came because throughout my life as a young boy and as a footballer, I enjoyed the support of many people who came my way. Amongst these well-wishers and supporters were the underprivileged, some of whom walked many miles and used their little income and forget their enormous pain and disability to cheer us. This venture is one of many things I am already doing and hope to keep doing with my foundation. The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mahama Ayariga assured SAF and Alive and kicking Company of government's support to promote their product across the country and called on clubs to patronise the locally produced balls to impart the skills of the physically challenged.
