Prez Mahama: I Didn't Make A Promise; My Dumsor Banishment Comment Was Only A Prayer Request

I wont say I made a promise, it was an all-night to see the beginning of 2015 and in times like that, people make wishes to God and Im the President and seeing the way the erratic power supply is disturbing this country, should my prayer to end it be interpreted as a promise? It was a prayer request I made to God on behalf of all Ghanaians and I have faith that God has listened to my prayers, says President John Dramani Mahama, in answer to critics and cynicism being expressed by Ghanaians following his "we will banish darkness from our land and put an end to dumsor forever comment. The President, on 31st December 2014, during a CROSSOVER Watch night Service at the Perez Chapel Int'l, told the thousands of congregants whom he had joined to worship God, that his administration will strive to end the energy crisis which has plunged the entire country into a frustrating power rationing system. The year 2015 will be one filled with fruitfulness, joy, peace, good health and development. Now this is the interesting part: It will be one in which we banish darkness from our land and put an end to dumsor forever he said But speaking to Kumasi-based Angel FM on the 2nd anniversary of his investiture as President of Ghana, President Mahama explained that his comment was only a prayer request and should not be misconstrued as a promise. I wont say I made a promise, it was an all-night to see the beginning of 2015 and in times like that, people make wishes to God and Im the President and seeing the way the erratic power supply is disturbing this country, should my prayer to end it be interpreted as a promise? It was a prayer request I made to God on behalf of all Ghanaians and I have faith that God has listened to my prayers, President Mahama stated.
