Gov't Is Awarding 1000 Scholarships To Students - Prez Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians of his commitment to revamp the health, water and education sectors of the economy. According to the President, there are ongoing projects in the health sector and other sectors proving his government has not neglected its duties to the Ghanaian citizenry. In the health sector, the President in an interview with host of the Morning Show on Angel FM, Kwame Adinkra, highlighted some projects that the Mahama administration has embarked on since last year to boost the sector. He disclosed that, in the year 2014, the NDC government, constructed five (5) Polyclinics in the Upper West, Brong Ahafo and the Western Regions respectively. �We�re constructing another fifteen (15) in the Central Region and five (5) in the Greater Accra. Apart from that, six (6) in Tema, Adenta, Wenchi among other places," President Mahama added. He disclosed that his administration has commenced an initiative to build a military hospital and a Regional hospital in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region, to ease the health pressures on Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital which has for years been the principal health facility in the Region. The President further announced of his intention to construct a Teaching Hospital at the University of Ghana to augment the health sector in the capital. Addressing the water sector in the country, the President also revealed that the government has put in place pragmatic measures to revive the water systems at Teshie Nungua in the capital city, Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region and Wa in the Upper West Region. He also talked about the education system in the country, and promised to continue to enlarge the sector and ensure that students in the country enjoy better education. According to the President, over "1000 scholarships" will be awarded to children in deprived communities, particularly girls, in the nation. President John Mahama also pledged his government's commitment to resolving the economic crises confronting the nation.
