International Evangelist, Dr Lawrence Tetteh, on Tuesday asked Ghanaians to approach the upcoming political season as a normal democratic process which should be devoid of acrimony.
He said the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections were normal constitutional procedures and Ghana had travelled the path a number of times since 1992.
�The political parties, especially members and supporters of the ruling National Democratic Congress and the main opposition New Patriotic Party, should not engage in activities that give the impression that the process of electing national leaders will plunge the country into war,� he said.
Tolerance
In his new year message in Accra, Dr Tetteh said unity and tolerance should be the key words for every Ghanaian.
He added that the citizenry should be broad-minded about every national issue and give due recognition to people who had played their roles in the socio-economic development of the country, despite their political interests.
Local Government
Dr Tetteh commended the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development for initiating the National Sanitation Day (NSD), which was observed for the third time this month, and said efforts should be made by the current and succeeding governments to sustain the process.
He lauded the support of high-profile personalities such as President John Dramani Mahama and Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who were trying to sustain people�s interest in the NSD.
Corporate bodies
Dr Tetteh asked the clergy to take active interest in the process as being done by the corporate entities, adding: �Every Ghanaian should be a stakeholder in cleanliness since �cleanliness is next to Godliness".
He said it was shameful that malaria, cholera and other preventable diseases were killing Ghanaians in the 21st century.
