CPP Chairman Fights For Political Courage

JOHN DRAMANI Mahama will require a reasonable dosage of political courage to fight corruption to its core this year 2015 if he truly wants to sanitize the economy and for that matter the nation from administrative malpractice plus any other product of corruption, announced the Ashanti regional chairman of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Yaw Osei. According to him, the high level of corruption which characterized 2014 with its attendant number of strike actions by both private and the public sector, the series of demonstrations plus other factors which gave rise to the heat of economic hardship, he boldly indicated, can only be prevented this year if President Mahama will assume a resolute leadership posture, set in motion strict measures without fear or favor which will seek to weed out corrupt officials within the public sector. "Officials, irrespective of their political affiliations should immediately be pushed out of office if found guilty over any act of corruption; a prove of President Mahama's commitment towards ensuring that issues of corruption are handled with a zero tolerance approach, he noted. Disclosing the above in an interview with the DAILY HERITAGE, the outspoken chairman again underlined that the reasons for last years rampant agitations staged by a great number of irate citizens vis--vis the nature of the economic crisis were rooted in the fact that the leadership of the ruling government party failed to as a matter of urgency come out clean with respective to the flow of information on critical issues. "If President Mahama wants to see a successful administration of his office this year to the utmost taste of Ghanaians, he must ensure that mistakes he committed last year 2014 are not repeated," he advised.
