ICGC Pastor Defrauded By Driver

A 20-Year-Old driver, who allegedly swindled a pastor of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) of GH900, has been arrested by the Amasaman police.

Jacob Kofi, who, according to the police, operated with a gang, is reported to have duped Alex Adu Mensah, the Kasoa branch pastor of the church, of the amount, under the pretext of providing him with oil sealants for the Jubilee Oilfield.

The Amasaman District Police Commander, Superintendent George Andrew Kumah, told The Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday, that last January 28, Kofi called Pastor Mensah on phone and told him to meet him at Ofankor for a business deal.

Kofi arrived in a taxi with a box of oil sealants, at about 1:30 pm, and convinced Pastor Mensah to purchase them as they were in high demand at the Jubilee Field at a higher price.

Pastor Mensah bought one of the sealants for GH900 and took it home and later told his brother of the deal.

The brother suspected foul play and told the Pastor he had been swindled.

Pastor Mensah called Kofi on phone and requested for more of the sealants and when he arrived with the substance, the pastor raised the alarm and he was arrested and handed over to the police.

The police have retrieved 24 white fake sealants from him, and he is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
