Offinso NSS Shows Love To The Needy On Vals Day

As Ghana joins the rest of the world to celebrate St. Valentine day, the Offinso National Service Scheme Department took time out to visit some less privilege villages at Offinso Ayensua Fitaa and Ayensua Kokoo. The aim is to put smiles on the faces of people.

An undisclosed amount of money and items worth millions of cedis were donated to the people in the villages.

Items donated included, boxes of Key soap, walking stick, sardines and mackerels, toiletries, mattresses and pillow, bread, sugar, cooking oil, mat, rice, milo and used clothing.

The municipal director for Offinso NSS Mr. William Bediako Asante expressed delight for the gestures shown by the service personnel.

He urged the youth to take the occasion of valentine to show such love to the needy.

“Valentine day is the time for the youth to show love not only to the partners but the needy as well. They must invest in positive ventures to secure a good future” he said.

He however encouraged the needy to know that they can make it with perseverance and self-belief.

“All is not lost. People like the youth especially those of NSS Offinso think of you the needy” he noted.

The Chief of Ayensua Fofuo, Nana Oduro Frikyi lauded the NSS for the unprecedented gesture and said “it has never been heard of before in the community. I pray for God's blessings into your lives”.

He pleaded with government to come to their aid and provide them with toilet and a borehole facility since the town cannot boast of a decent place of convenience and a clean water.
