CODEC Demo Was PeacefulIgnore What The NPP Say Kofi Adams

The National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress, Kofi Adams who participated in the “One Ghana protest” says there was no heckling and “ganja smoking” as claimed by the opposition NPP.

Kofi Adams described the well-attended demonstrations as the most “peaceful” demonstration ever in Ghana’s history.

I have never seen such a peaceful demonstration in Ghana like what happened yesterday. The police played their role well and everything was in order,” he told OKAY FM’s morning show host, Kwame Nkrumah "Tikese".

Pressure group, Coalition for the Defence of Equal Citizenship (CODEC) organized a protest aimed at expressing their displeasure of ethnocentric comments allegedly made by NPPs Osafo Marfo.

But some NPP members who joined the protest claimed they were heckled and prevented from joining the exercise by some members of the NDC.

The NPP members including the party’s Communications Director, Nana Akomea were angry saying they did not understand why the NDC members chased them out when the protest was not partisan.

However, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West constituency, Hon. Ursula Owusu Ekuful alleged that the NDC youth protestors publicly smoked “wee” in the presence of uniform police officers.

Nonetheless, Kofi Adams has rubbished all claims made by the opposition NPP and advised Ghanaians to ignore their “lose talk” on OKAY FM’s Ade Akye Bia
