"Let�s Strengthen National Unity� �DCE

Mr David Wuni, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the West Mamprusi District Assembly on Friday appealed to Ghanaians to strengthen the bond of national unity to promote peace and development.

 
     He said no one should indulge in acts that would polarize the nation and stressed the need for the citizenry to be committed to the progress of the nation and help build a prosperous country for the younger generation.
 
     Mr Wuni made the appeal in Walewale when he addressed school children and the people of the area during the 58th Independence Day celebration on the theme: “Achieving Transformation Through National Unity”.
 
     Mr Wuni said the country’s founding fathers were able to attain Independence for the nation because of the bond of unity that existed among them and urged Ghanaians to strengthen the the bond of unity.
 
      He said the district would work to raise the standards of education while efforts are made to promote made in Ghana goods to generate income for Ghanaian entrepreneurs and the country as a whole.
 
     He assured the chiefs and people of the area that the NDC government under President John Mahama would work hard to bring development to the doorstep of the people saying, “We are lucky to benefit from the second phase of the community Senior High Schools initiated by the President”.
 
     He announced that the district would also benefit from the 30,000 computers and other items the President promised school children in his State of the Nation address and appealed to people in the district to come together to develop the area.
