NPPs Continuous Claim Of 2012 Election Rig Is Only An Excuse To Make Themselves Happy - Legal Practitioner

A Private Legal Practitioner, Kwadzogah Adawudu believes the refusal of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to accept defeat of the 2012 elections and its subsequent Supreme Court petition is the only way to make its members and sympathizers happy.

With the court injunction to stop the Electoral Commission from conducting the District Assembly elections, people from the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) have accused Dr. Afari Gyan and his team for causing the country to lose huge money due to the failure to organize a successful District Assembly elections.

To the opposition NPP, the Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Afari Gyan has willfully caused financial loss to the state and succeeded in rigging the 2012 elections for the ruling NDC with the help of the Supreme Court on the election petition.

But reacting on the issue raised by the NPP, Lawyer Kwadzogah Adawudu on Okay FM’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show is of the firm believe that all the 9 Judges who decided on the case at the Supreme Court could not rule in favor of the ruling NDC government.

The Private Legal Practitioner admitted there were skirmishes in the data entry during the 2012 elections but added they were not enough for the opposition NPP to say that the 9 Judges connived with the Electoral Commission to rig the election for NDC without noting the eligibility in the 2012 elections.

Addressing the claim by the opposition NPP, Lawyer Kwadzogah Adawudu asserted it is an act for the party [NPP] to entertain their members and stay happy considering the shocking defeat they chalked during the 2012 elections.

“…..for me, I think the NPP want to make themselves happy with their saying that the 2012 Presidential election was rigged. The Court has spoken and it is the highest court of the land. The court ordered there should be electoral reforms and suggested the kind of reform that has to be done,” he stated.

According to him, he has nothing to say to those in opposition NPP who don’t accept the decision and the verdict of the Supreme Court as it is their own peril to deny themselves with the truth concerning the 2012 Presidential petition to the Supreme Court.
