Former CPP National Youth Organizer, James Kwabena Bomfeh has lambasted the Attorney General, Marietta Brew-Oppong and the Government of Ghana for letting businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome off the hook.

Alfred Agbesi Woyome was charged on two counts of defrauding by false pretence and causing financial loss to the State, after receiving a judgment debt to a tune of 51 million cedis from the Government of Ghana.

Mr. Woyome was paid the amount after he allegedly failed to secure a contract to construct some stadia in the nation during the CAN 2008, held in Ghana.

But the court has acquitted and discharged him due to the Attorney General's inability to provide the necessary evidence and evidently present the prime prosecution witnesses to court to ensure that Mr. Woyome pays up the debt.

Though the Attorney General has serve Mr. Woyome and his legal team with an appeal notice, claiming the court ruling was "biased" and "wrongful in law", James Kwabena Bomfeh believes Woyome's acquittal lies squarely on the shoulders of the Attorney General and the government.

He wondered why the State Attorney didn't prosecute the parties which played a significant role in the payment of the debt to Mr. Woyome.

To him, such huge sum could have been retrieved if the State Attorney had supposedly done her home work well.

Kabila, as the former CPP Youth National Organiser is affectionately called, prayed the perpetrators behind the judgment debt scandal in the Woyome saga, do not go unpunished.

He prayed they together with their descendants face the judgment in the court of nature.

“In this world, all the people who have caused misery to every nation and have enriched themselves as a result of a nation’s exploitation have had to suffer it. It’s not just them alone but their children and grandchildren, and their posterity. There’s a spirit behind a nation’s curse," he said on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo".
