(AUDIO): NPP To Meet Over Affirmative Action On Wednesday

The New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s National Council, is set to meet on Wednesday, st April, 2015 to review decisions of the National Executive Committee that have sparked various controversies in the party.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) courted controversies in the party when they decided to allow only women to contest the 16 female MPs in their respective constituencies during the party's upcoming primaries.

They also agreed that only Gas should contest in some constituencies in the Greater Accra Region except in exceptional situations.

Speaking to Kwami Sefa Kayi in an interview on Monday, Communication's Director of the party, Nana Akomea said the National Council will be meeting to analyse the various petitions that has come forward as far as the affirmative action is concerned.

"Some are saying it is a good decision but the timing is wrong and others are saying it will not help us in the next election and so they will meet to analyse all these issues and find a solution to the issue".
