Govt To Distribute 3,000 Solar Panels Allotey Jacobs

Ghana’s energy crisis has been frustrating and well talked about by the citizenry who wants an urgent solution to the situation.

The Mahama-led NDC government is still working around the clock to solve the situation which is collapsing businesses whiles leaving many in total darkness and insecure at night.

President John Dramni Mahama recently told parliament and the entire nation that he will fix the crisis but many mainly the opposition NPP doubt the president's capabilities to resolve the problem.

The NPP on several occasion has used the energy crisis also known as “Dumsor Dumsor” as a yardstick against the sitting government but their accusations that the Mahama-led administration cannot fix the problem has been rubbished by the Central Regional Chairman of the NDC.

According to Chairman Allotey Jacobs, President [Mahama is not perturbed by what the NPP says but rather very focused to fix the problem.

He noted that, the president often meet with experts in the energy industry to seek solutions to the problem.

However, Allotey Jacobs said, in the short term, government will soon distribute dozens of solar panels to the urban and regional capitals to curb the situation until it’s finally resolved.

“Two to three hundred thousand [2000-3000] solar panels will be distributed to some areas to help them. The problem will be solved gradually,” he said on OKAY FM’s "Ade Akye Abia" morning show.
