Alleged Rape Scandal: I Was Coerced To Frame Up Chief

Mother of an alleged rape victim, Erica Otokunor, who accused Ngleshie Amanfrom Chief, Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV, of raping her daughter, Dorenda Day, has made a U-turn, saying she and her daughter were forced to frame up the chief in the scandal.

“We were coerced by some factions in a chieftaincy dispute involving Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV, who accompanied us to the police station to lodge a complaint and to fabricate a rape scandal against the chief,” Madam Otokunor stated.

According to Madam Otokunor, she and her daughter (Dorinda Day,) were forced by some family members of Ngleshie Amanfrom Stool who are engaged in a chieftaincy dispute with the embattled chief to frame him up.

Explaining the circumstances that led to the frame up scandal toToday in an interview, the mother of the alleged rape victim disclosed that, before the issue she and her daughter were in good relationship with, Nii Kwashie Gbolor IV.

Madam Otokunor further disclosed that Nii Kwasjie Gborlor even got acquainted with her daughter in January 2015.

She further revealed that one “chief” who led her daughter to the police station to lodge the complaint forced her daughter to accuse the chief of rape.

According to Madam Otukonor, though they reported a case of pregnancy to the Kasoa police, the said chief insisted they changed the case to rape.

She recounted that, the opponent of Nii Kwashie Gbolor IV compelled her daughter to join him in his car whilst he drove her through the principal streets of Amanfrom to inform people about the purported rape by the Ngleshie Amanfrom chief.

According to her, she got hint of this diabolic plan when her daughter returned home to report the actions of that chief which were against her wish to her (Otukunor)..

She also recounted that on their return “the said chief assured her of his support and that of a high profile people who were interested in the case on condition that it could be reported and charged as rape by the police.

Madam Otokunor said the land dispute involving the chief was what compelled the high profile persons to develop interest in the case.

“In fact what that chief and his cohorts did has traumatized my daughter and ruined the cordial relationship between my family and the chief of Amanfrom,” she lamented.

She admitted that the people wanted to use her daughter as a tool to achieve their personal interest, hence her decision to discontinue the case.

And it was against this backdrop that, she told Today that she and her family were no longer interested in any chieftaincy or land litigation and for that matter the people should leave her family alone.

“My daughter should not be used as bait. We are not interested in any police or legal battle,” she concluded.
