Finally some commuters have found the magical way to forcefully get insolent ‘trotro’ drivers to show passengers the needed respect both parties deserve when they pay for services.

Passengers, who were travelling from Kasoa to Madina this morning in a Sprinter bus, did the bold thing by reporting their driver to the Ghana Police for overloading.

Before the vigilant commuters took the above decision which caused the arrest of the driver, they had forewarned him to be content with the number of passengers he had filled his bus with; but to their surprise, their caution fell on death ears.

Anytime a passenger alighted at a bus stop, the driver made sure his bus conductor allowed two passengers to fill a single seat which has been left. This together with unnecessary stops at every junction angered some of the passengers and they promised to report the driver to the police.

The driver disrespectfully replied his passengers that “even if I get caught by the police, all I will do is to bribe my way through for freedom”.

Unfortunately for him, at Kwashieman, there was severe traffic jam on the road with nearly a two mile tailback and the passengers had the last laugh by calling in a police patrol team to deal with the driver. In unison, the passengers reported the driver to the police and rubbed salt into his wound to make him pay for his stupidity.
