Fuel Supply Improves

Fuel supply to various filling stations in parts of the National Capital, Accra, has improved. Some drivers and motorists, who hitherto experienced difficulty in obtaining fuel for their vehicles, have told newsmen that the problem has eased. This improvement follows a promise made Thursday by the Tema Oil Refinery that tankers loaded with various petroleum products had been dispatched to distribute fuel to the various filling stations in Accra and other parts of the country. For nearly one week, motorists have experienced an unpleasant shortage in the fuel supply, compelling some drivers to park their vehicles. At the Goil Filling Station adjacent the GCB Towers at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, a 30,000-litre capacity tanker was spotted offloading fuel into the reservoir. t the Shell and Total Filling Stations at Avenor, attendants were busily selling petrol and diesel to their customers after they received supplies last night. The story was no different at the 37 Military Hospital Shell and Total Filling Stations. The Station attendants at the Goil and Total Filling Stations and the Manager of an Allied Oil Filling Station told Joy News that they were hopeful the shortage would not recur.
