Dumsor Has Badly Affected Chief Imam And We Will Attack ECG Officials

As the power situation in Ghana keeps getting worse day by day, some residents at Fadama, a suburb in Accra have decided to visit the office of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the community and “pump sense into the heads of the authorities”.

An aspiring Assembly member for the Fadama area, Mr. Ibrahim, who spoke on Peace FM Evening News on Monday, wondered why ECG has failed to follow the load shedding schedule plan.

As a result of this, the Fadaman Night Market area has been engulfed in darkness for five consecutive days. The National Chief Imam, Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, who lives in the same area has been adversely affected by it and is reported to be spending GHC 1400 a week on fuel to power his standby generator.

This, among other factors, is what has compelled the youth in the area to plan the attack on ECG officials at Avenor.

We are currently gathering resources and planning on organizing a march from Fadama to the ECG office at Avenor where we would attack them from there”, Mr. Ibrahim said.

The power crisis has increased crime in our area. At night people steal car tapes and the darkness is making the area unsafe to live in... We will go to the office of the ECG and find out if perchance the officials over there are brain-dead”, he said.
