Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communication Member, Michael Ampong has blamed the tension going on in the party on the former Executive Director of the Danquah Institute (DI), Gabby Otchere Darko.

According to him, Gabby Otchere Darko is not all that a bad person but the problem of the NPP is from him due to his behavior of using divisive tactics to campaign internally for Nana Akufo-Addo.

He asserted that there has been a grand plan to destroy former President John Agyekum Kufuor and his legacy in the NPP using some people in the Ashanti Region like the former General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, Minority Leader of Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu and Dr. Amoako Tuffuor as the conduit.

Speaking on Okay FM’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show, Michael Ampong alleged that the likes Jake Obetsebi Lamptey are part of the scheme to demonize former President Kufuor before the people of Ashantis, daring to prove to the public if they challenge him in court.

He again stated that he is prepared to strip naked Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John that he is not truly loyal to NPP 2016 Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo; adding “the worse Sir John can do is to hire people to kill me but I’m telling you, before I die, he will be shocked”.

“The division which started in the party that certain NPP members belong to Kufuor’s camp was propagated by Gabby Otchere Darko….Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu is part of the scheme to destroy Kufuor’s name in Ashanti region; Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, Sir John and Daniel Bugri Naabu have planned to destroy Kufuor and his legacy in NPP….all of us who support Kufuor are demonized and stigmatized including Alan Kyerematen,” he fumed.
