Mothers’ Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. It is a time to honor and appreciate mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers and all women for their contribution to family and society.
Many gifts and messages are often given to mothers to make them feel appreciated and this year was no exception.
Awura Afua Djang, a 10 year old pupil of Mary Mother of Good Counsel School, Accra obviously, does not want to be left out of the celebration.
She wrote a poem for all mothers and her persistence and tenacity resulted in her being invited to the studios of PEACE FM to read it out on ‘Kokrokoo’.
Hosting the young prodigy on his show, Tuesday, Kwami Sefa Kayi said he could not have refused the ‘daring’ request of the class 4 pupil who just wanted to express her appreciation to all mothers especially her mother.
