Prez. Mills Receives Dagbon Chiefs

The President, J.E.A. Mills says the government of NDC would eliminate all factors which promote injustice during their reign. To this end, the President prevailed upon the citizenry to be law abiding, in order to guarantee peace and unity we all need. President Mills said due to their quest for justice to be done to all manner of people, he has charged the security agencies to do their work without fear or favor to anybody but rather, be fair to all. President J.E.A. Mills stated these when a delegation of chiefs from the Dagbon Traditional Council met him at the Castle Gardens at Osu today, Wednesday, July 22, 2009. President Mills says he feels honoured to receive a high-powered delegation from Dagbon, led by Kumbun Na Yiri II. The President said he knows about the problems of Dagbon and northern region in general which includes poor roads, inadequate infrastructure, challenges of Education and other issues. He said it due to these issues that Government is putting in place the Savanna Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), to facilitate the Development of the North. The spokesperson of the Dagbon Chiefs, Kumbun Na Yiri II urged the President to ensure that justice is attained in the murder of Yaa Na Andani Yakubu II�s case in order to bring lasting Peace and Development to Dagbon. He said Agric is their main job which needs support in areas of loans, Equipment and Irrigation. The Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Stephen Nayina said he is happy that both Andanis and Abudus came to the castle together. He wants Northern Region to be divided into more Districts if the Region cannot immediately be divided into two(2) in order to facilitate the development of the region.
