Secret To NPPs Victory: Accept, Respect And Appreciate Mandate Of Nana Addo, Afoko And Agyapong!!!

Special Aide to the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Opoku Davis has revealed the antidote that will resolve the internal wrangling in his party and eventually lead them to victory in the 2016 general elections.

According to him, it is not necessary to befriend everybody in the party to win power for the party if every member learns to respect the mandate given the executives by the discerning delegates.

Speaking on Okay FM’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show, Opoku Davis outlined three (3) key points that will ensure the unity his party is yearning for and the subsequent victory Ghanaians are expecting to see in the 2016 elections.

There are three things we have to learn as a party; first of all, let’s accept the fact that we have elected a Flagbearer, a National Chairman, a General Secretary, National Organizer and even Polling Station Youth Organizers across the country.

Let’s begin to respect mandates in the party; when we respect that Nana Addo is the Flagbearer, Paul Afoko is the National Chairman and Kwabena Agyapong is the General Secretary, then that is the way to go,” he charged.

He again said “let’s begin to love one another”, adding “we don’t need to be friends to win power; let’s begin to appreciate that there is potential in everyone in the party to carry out their duties accordingly”.

He is of the view that the delegates voted for Kwabena Agyapong because they know he carries some potential which will help the party, considering the long standing sacrifices he has made in the party since 1991.

To him, NPP delegates voted for Kwabena Agyapong because they know he can instill discipline in the party; admitting that there is a challenge for the party to adapt due to the disciplinarian nature of the NPP’s Chief Scribe.

He said NPP is on the verge of winning 2016 elections if the members will respect one another; cautioning that running to the media to discuss party issues show those involve don’t respect the party and its authorities.

Turning to Arthur Kennedy’s write-up in the media, Opoku Davis chided him saying he should have put his grievances before the appropriate committee; insisting he [Arthur Kennedy] is wrong with his action and not the people he mentioned in his write-up.

He therefore called on the party faithfuls to rally behind the leaders of the party and abort the habit of going public with issues which bother on the interest of the party as that will amount to disrespect of the party and the leadership.

All those who bring party issues to media don’t respect the party and its authority. Let’s begin to appreciate that they are our leaders who are matching us to victory in 2016. Don’t come and denigrate party leaders in the media and create the impression that you love the party; you are hurting the party and you give weapon to the NDC to attack us,” he chided.
