Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Fuse ODG Others Nominated For 2015 BET Awards
The full nominees list for this year’s BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards has been released and for the first time in the history of the awards two Ghanaian artistes have been nominated in Best International Act(Africa) category.
Reigning Ghana Music Awards artiste of the year Stonebowy and BET Awards winning Rapper Sarkodie were both nominated in Ghana same category - Best International Act: Africa, whiles Ghanaian UK based International Afro-Pop artiste Fuse ODG was nominated for the Best International Act: UK category.
Sarkodie and Stonebowy would competing with other African artistes like Fally Ipupa from Congo, Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Wizkid (Nigeria), THE SOIL (South Africa) and AKA from South Africa. TINA Singer Fuse ODG, Lethal Bizzle and Stormzy, all of Ghanaian parentage and based in UK, will face FKA twigs, Little Simz, and MNEK for the award.
Kojo Antwi was the first to be nominated for BET Awards when the “Best International Act: Africa" category was introduced in 2010. D-Black was nominated in 2011, Sarkodie was nominated in 2012 in the same category and he won, R2Bees was nominated in 2013, Sarkodie was nominated again in 2014 and this year Sarkodie has his third nomination in that same category with first timer Stonebowy.
The 2015 BET Awards is scheduled to come off on June 28 in Los Angeles, USA.
