Several structures have been demolished at Kantamanto-Railway by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).

 Some items that were sold in the shops that were destroyed in the process are second-hand clothing, hair extensions, and CDs.

According to the shop owners, the AMA boss was there on Wednesday to tell them to vacate the area. They said the Mayor informed them about a summit which would be organized in the country and therefore there was the need to keep the city clean.


One trader explained that her phone was seized by some AMA officials when she tried taking pictures of the exercise.

 The doors of the shops were sent to the AMA office for safekeeping.
