Accra Floods & Fire: Blood Of Victims Will Be On The Heads Of 'Careless Authorities' Kuntu Blankson

Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Ekumfi, George Kuntu Blankson has warned that anyone whose negligence led to the death of about 200 people in last Wednesday’s twin disaster in Accra will pay for the calamity.

To him, such tragic incidents must be prevented from happening again in future and held the view that authorities who overlooked preventive measures will certainly incur the wrath of the dead.

The blood of the lost souls will forever be on the heads of the unsympathetic authorities. Why should this happene?” he questioned.

Speaking on Adom FM's morning show, Kuntu Blankson stated that in some parts of the world, those whose actions or inactions led to such disasters would have resigned honourably but that does not seem to be the case in Ghana.

Ghana was submerged by floods following torrential rainfall especially in the capital city, Accra last Wednesday.

Nearly 200 people were reported dead when the Goil filling station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle adjacent the Ghana Commercial Bank [GCB] towers under which they were seeking shelter burst out in flames.
