Some NPP Delegates In Ofoase-Ayirebi Threaten To Vote Skirt And Blouse Against Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah

Following the victory of former broadcaster, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah in the just ended primaries of the opposition New Patriotic Party at Ofoase-Ayirebi Constituency, many supposed party delegates who supported other contenders have threatened to vote “skirt and blouse” in the 2016 general elections.

Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah won the Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency primary by polling 219 votes out of the 418 votes which were cast.

John Obiri Yeboah came second with 145 And Bright Asamoah had 54 votes.

The Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency is known to be a popular seat of the opposition NPP, and it’s likely the former broadcast journalist would retain the seat for the opposition NPP.

But one NPP delegate from the constituency, Agya Owusu on Okay Fm’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show who is not pleased with the former Joy FM Morning Show host's victory, has revealed the plan of the majority of the people in the constituency to vote instead for the NDC parliamentary candidate and NPP 2016 Presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo.

He explained that the choice of Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah over one aspirant John Obiri-Yeboah was not the earlier agreement the chiefs in the constituency promised the NPP fraternity after the incumbent announced his decision not to run for parliament again.

We are having a meeting in this constituency secretly but I will tell you our intention in the 2016 general elections; we have decided to vote for NDC candidate in Ofoase-Ayirebi and the Presidential will go to Nana Akufo-Addo,” he revealed.

He continued saying “we will vote skirt and blouse; this is the strong hold of the NPP so we will vote for Nana Akufo-Addo but as for the NPP MP slot, never- we will vote against him!” he threatened.
