NDC Will Not Hand Over Victory To Us On A Silver Platter. Nana Addo

The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo is predicting a massive abuse of incumbency by the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the lead up to the 2016 elections.

He is therefore asking his party members across the country to brace themselves up for a tougher campaign ahead of the elections.

Speaking at his Nima residence in Accra when the NPP parliamentary candidate for the La-Dadekotopon, Vincent Odotei paid a courtesy call on him, Nana Addo stated that it is imperative for every party members to recognize that “we have to work very, very hard.”

According to him, there is no way the NDC will hand over “victory to us on a silver platter.”

Nana Addo cited happenings in the just ended Talensi by-elections where the party failed to retain the Parliamentary seat to stress the need for effective preparations on the part of the NPP ahead of 2016.

“We are going to work hard at it. We’ve all seen what happened in Talensi; all the mobilization that took place there in one constituency; let’s expect the same across the country in 2016,” he said. He was certain that if party members remain strong, united and with the support of Ghanaians, victory will be theirs.

“We need to keep our eye on the big picture and the big picture is 2016 which is how we will win power for Ghana; not for ourselves,” he advised.

He indicated that although the NDC government is unable to govern the nation, they are determined to cling on to power.

“The people who are there today, they can’t do the work of our country but because there are some benefits from power, they are determined to stay there; they can’t do the people’s work but they are determined to cling on to power.”

The NPP flagbearer stressed that Ghanaians are looking up to the NPP to give them a decent, hardworking government “that will begin the process of transforming our country and lifting the country up; we can do it!”
