Rawlings Is Supporting Me To Unseat Prez Mahama"

George Boateng, the man who has signaled his intent to contest President John Dramani Mahama in the NDC presidential primary has disclosed that former President Jerry John Rawlings and some party leaders are in support of his bid.

According to him, President Rawlings has given him his blessing to contest the current President in the impending primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). “Rawlings is fully behind me… he is actually supporting me to unseat President Mahama” he said.

Although he is not well known in the ruling party, George declared his intention to contest the leader of the NDC after claiming that he will be a better president than the incumbent.

He claimed President Mahama has failed to live up to expectation considering the problems the country is facing.

Last Saturday the 45 year old NDC youth organizer in Oyarifa said he will be having further discussions with president Jerry Rawlings about his intention and subsequently pick his form.

However, speaking on an Accra based radio station Tuesday, the freight-forwarder who was reported to have picked forms Monday alleged that there are a lot of people who would want to contest president Mahama but the General Secretary of NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketia in his endeavor to protect the president has hidden all the forms.

“Asiedu Nketia has hidden all the forms… he doesn’t want to make them available for the president to be contested” he lamented.

Mr. Boateng assured his supporters that he will defeat the leader of the party in the November 7 NDC primaries.
