Some National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegates at Korley Klottey has urged the daughter of former President Rawlings, Miss Ezanator Rawlings to back down on her intention to run for that Parliamentary seat in the party�s upcoming primaries slated for November t, 2015.
In an interview with some delegates from the constituency they stated that Ezanator is no doubt a fine lady and a member of the party but she does not even dwell in the constituency so it will be even difficult to �sell� her in the unlikely event that she wins the primaries.
According to one of the delegates, Miss Ezanator has age on her side so she can wait for her turn in future but this time round she should let the men who have been around all these years and helping the constituency in diverse ways in terms of logistics and financial support take that challenge because they are better placed.
Even the constituency secretary - Richmond Dizzy Quaye is also on record to have denied ever knowing Dr. Ezenator in the constituency.
�Well, she is not known in the constituency and we the executives are not really aware of her. I can�t say the NDC members in this area know her as an active member,� he said.
The party members maintain that Dr. Rawlings is a total stranger to the party in the area and that it will be unfair for anybody to think of pushing her to contest for the seat, adding that, over the years, the Rawlingses have neglected the NDC.
According to them, the move by Ezenator Rawlings is an attempt by his father to control or hijack the party through the backdoor after neglecting the party, particularly during the 2012 election. �The former president never mounted the platform to campaign for us,� one party activist revealed.
