Freddie Blay Is NPPs Problem - NDC MP

National Democratic Congress Member of Parliament for Lower Manya, Ebenezer Tei-Larbi says leadership of the New Patriotic Party should blame Freddie Blay for their woes. According to the MP, Mr. Blay is usurping the powers of the chairman and the General Secretary, and the fall out of such usurpation is what has caused "confusion" in the leadership of the NPP.

He insists in as much as the First Vice Chairman of the party has a major role to play in the affairs of the party, it does not make him the ‘real boss’, thus, taking charge of affairs meant for the chairman and the scribe of the party. "One thing I can say is that problems faced by the NPP are nothing but Freddie Blay. He is the actual problem and so the earlier they realize it and deal with it, the better it would be for them.

“Until they identify the key things worrying them (NPP), then their misfortunes will never end” he noted. The NPP is once again in the news and this time some executives are being accused of opening an unapproved bank account and diverting funds meant for the party.

Freddie Blay and the Treasurer of the party, Abankwah Yeboah have been cited in the alleged scandal by a person claiming to be a member of the party and have been subsequently invited by the police to assist investigations. Both men have declined the invitation, with Mr Abankwah insisting "That (misapplication) is not true, there is nothing like that” while Mr Blay maintains the issue is a party matter and should be dealt with internally. But the NDC MP on Adom fm’s morning show ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Thursday believes the NPP have elected executives who have little knowledge of activities of the party and the party's failure to school their members on electoral reforms have compounded their problems. Nana Akufo-Addo, flagbearer of the NPP, Mr Tei- larbi opined, is also not helping matters "since he has chosen to tour the country rather than settling the problems in the party."
