Polytechnic Administrators Ready For Technical University Concept

The Ghana Association of Polytechnic Administrators has assured government of its readiness for the full take-off of the technical university concept beginning from the 2016 academic year. The administrators are a key component of the polytechnic family and are seen as the engine that runs the day to day activities of these institutions. Mr Luguterah Austin, National President of the Association, speaking to the Ghana News Agency at the 10th Annual Delegates Congress in Takoradi, said senior members in administration of the various polytechnics were well able and comparable to those in the traditional universities. He said the conversion idea was brilliant and whilst lauding government added; "we hope government would continue with the road map to meet the September 2016 deadline.� He, therefore, pleaded with Ghanaians to ensure a peaceful election in 2016 adding; "so that we can all contribute to national development.� Mr Emmanuel Okumi Andoh, Acting Rector of the Takoradi Polytechnic, called for unity among them in advancing the affairs of polytechnics.
