PHOTOS: Starbow Plane Over-Shoots Runway...Crashes Through Barricade

Starbow flight S9 100 from Accra to Tamale overshot the runway on Tuesday morning at the Tamale Airport while landing.

The plane, according to passengers onboard, experienced some problems while landing causing the aircraft to crash through the runway's barricade until it stopped.

Images available to Peacefmonline.com show gas masks hanging in the plane while the front tyres broke into the cockpit.

A statement issued later on by Starbow’s Chief Executive officer, James Eric Antwi, described the incident as "minor". 

Meanwhile, all passengers onboard are safe according to authorities.

STARBOW : PRESS RELEASE

We have received notification that Starbow flight S9110, which was en-route from Accra to Tamale, has been involved in minor incident today 6th October 2015.

As a result, Starbow's BAe aircraft with registration 9GSBB went through the barricade at the end of the Tamale runway and stopped. It is noteworthy that, both the crew and the passengers were disembarked safely via the stairs.

Our sincere concern goes out to all of the passengers, friends and families involved. We are still gathering the facts concerning the event. Starbow is cooperating fully with the Authorities in charge.
