Mahama Begins Tour Of Western, Central Regions

President John Dramani Mahama begins a two-regional working visit to the Western and Central regions on Sunday. He would start off by attending a Church Service of the Assemblies of God Ministry in Sekondi. A source at the Flagstaff House told the Graphiconline that the President would use the five-day visit to inaugurate completed development projects including a Community Day Senior High School. Besides, he will inspect work on ongoing projects. The president and his administration has been executing numerous infrastructure projects both completed and ongoing in the two regions and the President is expected to emphasise the determination of the government to do even more within the remaining period of his first term. Mr Mahama will also meet the business community. In the 2012 presidential elections, President Mahama won in the two regions while the NDC claimed majority seats as well. And as the political parties warm up towards the electioneering campaign next year, the President would want to use the opportunity to signal his determination and that of his party to maintain the status quo in the 2016 elections. Ahead of the November primaries of the NDC, the President is scheduled to meet with the rank and file of party members during the visit and to encourage them to work hard towards winning the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections. President Mahama is the sole candidate for the presidential primary. He would also pay courtesy calls on chiefs.
