Group Cautions Armah Ashietey, Other To Desist From Attacking Ezanetor

Members of the Grassroots Supporters’ Front (GSF), a pressure group of the NDC, have accused Nii Armah Ashietey, Member of Parliament for klottey Korle, of playing the tribal card in an effort to edge out Dr Ezanetor Rawlings, a parliamentary aspirant of the constituency.

The group alleged that Nii Armah Asheitey was instigating people not to vote for Dr Rawlings in the upcoming primary, because she was an Ewe and did not come from the constituency.

The group also accused Mrs Sedina Tamakloe, CEO of MASLOC and other Government officials, such as Dr. Valerie Sawyer, former Deputy Chief of Staff and Ms. Sherry Ayyittey, Minister of Fisheries, of distributing items such as sewing machines and bags of rice, as well as urging the delegates not to vote for Dr. Rawlings.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Nana Kwame Frimpong, a member of GSF, wondered why such powerful government officials would connive with Nii Armah Ashiettey to destroy the image of a bold lady like Dr. Ezanetor Rawlings.

“It is embarrassing that in a desperate bid to cling to power, persons who see the charismatic Dr Ezanetor as a threat, are employing such appalling tactics to get rid of her,” he said.

The group alleged that all the dirty and mudslinging tricks been perpetuated in the constituency against Dr. Rawlings, were all engineered by Nii Armah Ashietey, and pledged to petition the office of the General Secretary of the NDC soon on the issue.

The group therefore urged all party supporters and delegates in the constituency to stay strong and not to be daunted by all the ethnic allegations levelled against Dr Ezanetor Agyemang Rawlings.
