Afadzato South Youth Bubble With Rage�DCE Stands Accused

The Concerned Citizens of the Afadzato South (CCAS) has tabled allegations of Conflict of interest, greed; riot and, corruption against the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the Afadzato South District Assembly, Madam Angela Alorwu -Tay. According to the group led by Paul Kpai has therefore called for her immediate disqualification in the upcoming vetting of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as well as calling on investigative offices like the Economic and Organised Office (EOCO), the Bureau of National Investigation (BNI) and the National Security to commence an investigation in the allegations. He explained that, Madam Angela Alorwu-Tay has involved herself in corrupt practices since she was appointed. He said an amount of GH�36, 000.00 was released to the constituency for the 2012 presidential and parliamentary elections, she failed to inform the executives about the said money and till date no one is aware of what the money was used for. Instructively, he said, the DCE and the Management of the Assembly set up a five member Grader Committee, to see to the smooth running of the Assembly�s Heavy Duty equipment saying �till date, we don�t know how much money has been generated to the kitty of the Assembly, let alone did the DCE has called the Grader Committee to a meeting to address the operations of the heavy equipment which continues to draw heavy deductions at source from the share of the District�s Assembly Common Fund. The DCE was alleged to have spent GHC35, 000.00 from the Assembly�s fund on a private residence, which was rented at the cost of GHC7, 200.00 for a period of two years, foregoing her official residence located at Ve- Golokuati, hence spending the Assembly�s Internally Generated Fund (IGF) on fuel and maintain ace. The DCE has also been accused of calling revenue collectors to bring revenues collected with the General Counterfoil Receipt (GCR) without following due process and use the revenue meant for the Assembly on her personal needs. In the area of conflict of interest, Madam Alorwu- Tay was alleged to have awarded some projects to her own company, Redeester Services Limited. On her abysmal vindictiveness, the group said a total of 17 people who failed to agree with evil thoughts have been transferred from the District which include the District Director of Health, District Revenue Collector, Stenographer Secretary, Senior Accountant among others as well as the District Director of Education, who by dint of hard work raised the results of the BECE from 47% to 77% in a year. Currently, the District has no Director of Education. The group has also accused the DCE for habouring National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) relief items meant for the District in to her private residence. She was heard saying boldly �that was the only way she could collect some items down to support her favourites during the recently held district assembly election and reserve some for her political ambition to contest the MP position. The most recent diversion of the relief items was on 16th June, 2015. She has also been accused of manipulating the system through to NADMO head office, Accra and take consignments without passing through the regional stores. The group, which is calling on the vetting committee for her immediate disqualification, is also calling on the Regional Minister, the Local Government Minister and the Chief of Staff to probe into the corrupt practices of the DCE.
