African Center for Security and Counter Terrorism Condemns Paris Attacks

The African Center for Security and Counter Terrorism has issued a statement condemning the “criminal and barbaric” attack on Paris and the people of France.

Emmanuel Kotin, Head of Programs said in a statement issued in Accra that: “we of the ACSC unreservedly condemn the recent criminal and barbaric attacks on paris and the people of france. those attacks defy the tenets of any religion or ethics or morals of humanity”.

“..we stand by them in this moment of grief and mourning. we know that these attacks will not dwindle in you the principles of liberty, equality and fraternity upon which france was founded”.

He further admonished all to fight against terrorism since it “no national boundaries, religion, morality, race, creed, gender or age”.

In the statement, Mr. Kotin emphasized the need for concerted effort to combat terrorism through education of the populace about the spuriousness of the propaganda by which terrorist organisation radicalise others and justify their evil and vile attacks.

“We call on all religious and community leaders of africa and the world to openly condemn such propaganda and acts. we particularly call on all true muslims in africa and the world to openly distance themselves from from such propaganda and acts which tend to cast a bad image about the peaceful religion of islam. we urge imams and muslim clerics and other religions leaders to explain to their audience that such acts are not prescribed or condoned by the principles of any religion”.

“As a civil society organization we on all countries, organizations, community leaders, religious leaders and all others to partner us in educating the public about this monster that breeds evil and vile acts,” he added.
