Unconfirmed reports suggest that Chieftaincy Minister, Dr. Henry Seidu Daanaa, has polled a surprise victory over the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Wa East constituency, Ameen Salifu in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries.

That means Dr. Daanaa will be representing the people of Wa East on the ticket of the NDC in the 2016 parliamentary election.

The contest was a close call.

Dr. Daanaa had earlier predicted of winning the seat considering the enormous work he has done in the area compared to the incumbent MP.

“I have done my work on the grounds and I know how fertile the grounds are for me. You don’t go into these things without doing the necessary research. I am confident of victory,” he was quoted as saying by Accra based Starr FM.

In another shocking development, incumbent MP for Lawra constituency, Abu Sampson has also lost his position to a former Upper West Regional Minister, Bede Zeideng.

Mr. Zeideng’s message, according to inside sources was well received by the constituents.
