Unknown Persons "Shit Bomb" Wesley College Of Education

Some unknown persons Tuesday night splashed faecal matter in over 10 classrooms of the Wesley College of Education in Kumasi ostensibly in further protest against a new examination policy that allowed a student just one opportunity to rewrite a failed paper or be sacked.

This is less than 24 hours after the students staged a demonstration chanting war songs against the new policy by the examination authorities from the University of Cape Coast.

Graphiconline’s Donald Ato Dapatem reports that there is heavy police presence in the school.

According to him, a tour of the affected area indicated a huge presence of flies and very offensive stench emanating from the faeces.

He reports that some of the students have managed to bring out all the furniture in the affected classrooms to enable them clean the classrooms to make way for lectures to continue.

Some students who spoke to Graphiconline on condition of anonymity said they found the classrooms splashed with the faecal matter around 4:30am Wednesday morning around.

Meanwhile, the Principal of the School, Mr Eric Famiyeh, has travelled to Accra to attend to a crucial meeting being organised by the Council for Tertiary Education regarding the new examination policy but other tutors would not want to comment on the development.

Background

The trainee teachers Tuesday embarked on a peaceful demonstration to kick against a new examination policy that gives a student just one opportunity to rewrite a failed paper or be sacked.

According to them, the introduction of the policy was an attempt to fleece and reduce their numbers.

Policemen who were dispatched to the school brutally assaulted the students.
