The Delhi Public School International (DPSI), a world class international school in Tema, was awarded the best A-Level School and Cambridge IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) School of the year 2015 by the British Council in the Certificate of Achievement award.

Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 to 16 year olds. It is recognised by leading universities and employers worldwide, and is an international passport to progression and success. Developed over 25 years ago, it is tried, tested and trusted by schools worldwide.

The World Scholar's Cup Tournament of Champions was held between 13 and 16 November 2015 at the Yale University in the USA.

The overwhelming performance of some brilliant students in the school has ensured winning of these awards for DPSI.

The students who brought about these awards include Inhee Baek who was the best student in chemistry (IGCSE), Jenya Dede .A. Okai also the best in French language (IGCSE) and Klaudia Konadu best student in German language (IGCSE).

The star performer of the school was Samuel Taj Aryee, an A-Level student who topped in 4 subjects namely Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics.

According to Mr. David Raj, Headmaster of DPSI, the school only won one award in 2014 and that made them determined to improve substantially in 2015.

“These excellent results made us very proud and it motivated the students, teachers and management staff to work harder and even perform better in the future,” Mr. Raj said.

This follows the school’s excellent performance in Malaysia at the Global Round of the 2015 World Scholar’s Cup where the DPSI won three gold trophies and 27 medals. The Malaysian competition had over 2,500 participants from 40 countries from across the world. Participants contested in various subjects including, Music, Science, Arts, History, Literature, Social Studies and Special Areas about Heroes and Superheroes.

The school has also won the National Spelling Bee competition for three consecutive years and recorded the highest performance at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in the US.
