Presbyterian  University  College  has  graduated  some  541  students,  with  37  of  them  made  up  of  22  males  and  15  females  graduating  with  first  class  honors.

Prof.  Stephen  Addai,  former  rector  of  GIMPA  who  was  the  guest  of  honor  at  the  ceremony  admonished  the  graduands  to  be  development  oriented,  since  that  is  what  Ghana  needs  to  overcome  the  numerous  challenges.

In  all,  37  of  them  graduated  with  first  class  honors,  202  graduated  with  second  class  upper,  195  had  second  class  lower ,  90  of  them  graduated  with  third  class  and  17  came  with  pass  mark.

The Moderator  of  general  assembly,  Rev.  Prof.  Emmanuel  Martey  congratulated  the  granduands  for  their  success.

He  advised  the  graduands  not  to  leave  the  country  in  search  of  greener  pastures  but  rather    to  contribute  significantly  to  the  development  of  the  nation.

Speaking  on  the  theme,  “Leadership  for  Development; The  Role  of  Mission  Based  Tertiary  Institutions”,  Prof.  Stephen  Addai  stated  that  quality  leadership  is  a  key  to  prosperous  and  fruitful  life  of  every  nation.

He  blamed  Ghana’s  slow  pace  of  development  on  poor  leadership,  adding  that  with  legitimate  and  righteous  leaders,  transformation  will  occur.

Touching  on  corruption,  Prof.  Stephen  Addai  noted  that  the  constitution  in  spirit  gives  nobody  the  privilege  to  be  corrupt.

He  said  government  must  create an  autonomous  independent  agency  to  investigate  corrupt  individuals  and  institutions.

He  advised  the  graduands  to  come  out  with  innovative  ideas  to  create  jobs  for  themselves  and  other  young  Ghanaian  people.
