Salaga Nursing Student Granted Bail

Latifa Saani, the student nurse at Kpembei Nurses and Midwifery School in Salaga has been granted bail by a magistrate court presided over by His Lordship David Sebiyem after duping her colleagues in amount of GHC 45,321

The court found her guilty on her own plea to charges of defrauding by false pretence

It was gathered through Police investigation that Latifa Saani after diddling her colleagues opened three accounts for stashing

A Ghana Commercial Bank account, a GN Bank account and an MTN Mobile System account.

The Police retrieved 19,350gh from the First account, 1,000.00Gh from the GN Bank account and 700Gh from the MTN Mobile Money account. A cash of 1,000.00 was also retrieved from her personal bag

In sum, 39,550 was retrieved from Latifa Saani

Latifa bought a new motorbike, Techno 7C mobile phone, sixteen new condoms, expensive clothes including New modern panties and other luxuries.

It would be recalled that Police in Salaga arrested a female nurse for defrauding some 41 students by diverting their school fees into her private bank accounts and issuing them a fake bank notes and stamps.

She was busted however when authorities of the school asked students to submit their bank receipts before writing their final papers

According to the authorities, the receipts submitted by the students were more than the amounts paid at the various banks

They added that upon screening they found the receipts to be dubious and fake

They assembled the 41 students and upon interrogation they unanimously mentioned Latifa as their conduit of payment

The Police were called and Latifa was picked up and charge with defrauding by false pretense

She appeared in court on Friday and pleaded guilty to the charge

His Lordship David Seyembei  granted a bail sum of 20,000.00 with one surety and ordered her to name her accomplices before the adjourned date or serve 15yr jail term

The case was adjourned to 6 January 2016
