An NDC member at Bibiani in the Western Region has reportedly stabbed an NPP member in the locality to death.
The NDC member, whose name was only given as Nana Yaa Nyamekye had a fierce fight with the NPP member named Amina Moro Kande.
The incident happened around 10 pm on Tuesday.
The brawl is said to have resulted from a sudden misunderstanding that ensued between the two women.
Speaking in an interview on Peace FM News at 12 noon, Superintendent Nana Kumi of the Bibiani/Anhwiaso/Bekwai district Police Command recounted that Nana Yaa and Amina Moro have been good friends for years but their friendship turned bitter lately as Nana Yaa accused Amina of slandering her.
As a result, the two had heated arguments and went their separate ways.
But Nana Yaa was not satisfied with the turn of events and so, she stabbed her friend with a knife and a pair of scissors.
Amina is said to have run to her husband and reported the incident before she was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead after arrival.
The Bibiani/Anhwiaso/Bekwai district Police is investigating the incident.
