Police Confirm Receiving Organized Labour Demonstration Letter

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Accra Regional Police command, ASP Afia Tengeh, has confirmed that her outfit has received a letter from the Organized Labour on their intended demonstration come 19th and 20th of January 2016.

Speaking to Citi FM news, she added that even though her office has received the letter, they are yet to engage the union per the letter written and also discuss the modalities of the demonstration.

According to members of the Organized Labour, they took this decision which they believe would send some signals to government especially President John Mahama after an increase in utility tariffs and petroleum prices in less than a month making life very difficult for Ghanaians.

Some of the activities they indicated include embarking on nationwide demonstrations and strikes.
