Let Us Respect The ECs Decisions - Former Deputy EC Chairman

Former Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Commission(EC), David Adeenze Kanga has called on Ghanaians to respect whatever decision the EC makes for credible elections to be held peacefully this year.

He said the various petitions from individuals, pressure groups and political parties could be disruptive to the EC’s work.

He said even though we are practicing democratic governance where persons can pour out their hearts on issues worrying them, it is by the same means that we should be mindful of the words that come out of our mouths.

Speaking to Joy FM News, he stated “my appeal to all citizenry is to respect every decision made by the EC.”

According to him we cannot have good elections if most of the citizens have vowed not to participate in the 7th November elections because they have personal issues with the EC and some political parties.

“We cannot have good elections by means of qualified voters refusing to vote. You have to exercise vigilance and also avoid being disruptive by not allowing yourselves to be used by political parties as an instrument of causing violence,” he said.

He advised leaders of the various political parties to desist from acts they know would not serve this nation any good.
